greating light, sharpness and posing. the looks to the camera are spot on, you've got good models.
-ve the background is distracting (colour flashes, light patch above the head);
Nice shot although perhaps cropping a little tighter (right and left) would bring more attention to the main subject. A little blown out in certain areas, the womans forehead and hand and also the boys shoulder. There's also a 'nasty' shadow on the womans right side of the face just under the eye. Other than that cute shot.
Is this a shot that you conciously posed, or is it one that happened naturally? I always find posing adults/children to be somewhat difficult, especially as neither is usually natural to posing. However, here you have achieved a great pose by aligning the eyes, maintaining subject(s) eye contact and without the mass of the adults body dwarfing that of the childs. The background is a little cluttered, would it not been possible to scootch 30 degress left to use the brown wooden cupboard as a more neutral background?
