Beautiful colors. Your subject has an eye for colors as well. From her rose adorned apron and flowery dress, to the bright blue bag that reads art material. I have a feeling that she works/creates with her hands. She has a big safety pin on the front of her apron that I am guessing she uses to hold pieces of her work in place. She has a weathered look to her skin which is replicated by the peeling paint from the wall. She may be up in age, but she's not ready to quit. Clearly we are both drawn to this photograph Amanda but see it through slightly different eyes. I see a proud old lady struggling up the hill with a bag of shopping but you read the bag and saw an artist.

Hello and thank you everyone for the kind words and ratings. I came across this lovely lady in the cobblestone streets of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. She caught my eye because she called out to a very old man who was walking the other way on the other side of the street (he was in front of me by several steps). They exchanged a few hellos in Spanish, laughed and waved, and she continued on her way. I wish I knew more about her, I do know that many elderly ladies do sell hand made dolls in the markets so it's possible she may have been returning from a mercado. I have another pic of a unique older lady making these dolls. I would like to post that one too. Thanks again. I very very much appreciate the interest. -Lia
