i'll remember not to take pics on hill tops !! at least with kids ... tried cropping , changing balance etc ... was not going to enhance this one.. but i liked the giggles
The hilltop is fine as a location (just don't ask them to step backwards!)
Why don't you stand further back and use a zoom lens to blur the background whilst keeping the foreground in focus? They say that 85mm is the perfect length for the classic portrait. (That's on a full frame camera though... It would be about 68ish on the 350d).
