I like this. As with many portraits, I think eyes that are just slightly brightened beyond the rest of the photo add punch. The trick is not to do it so much they look like G'u'ald (sp?) or demons.--Chris
I don't know wether to keep calling you p.p or Chris ? Think I'll stick with P.P,It's got a nice ring to it. Now I have done stuff to this photo, managed to get rid of some boat ladders and then did some blurring. My first major touch up and i know it could be improved. Could you give me some tips on eye brightening. Or is it too complex for that. Remember I've only just mastered red eye removal !!
Eye brightening. Okay. First, you'll have to magnify the image to the point where the eye fills up your screen. Then get some kind of marquee tool or drawing tool (different programs, different tools) to draw around the eye. If you can feather (the effect will blend better with surrounding data), do so, but not much for a small eye like this...maybe only by 2 pixels. Then just use brighten/contrast, levels, or curves to make it brighter and/or contrastier. Careful, if you overdo it, the person comes out looking like an alien symbiote has burrowed into its brain and is now bent on destroying the human race. (if you watch Stargate, that'll make sense.) --Chris
Thanks Chris. I will have a go ??!! I've got to say sometimes my son ( boy in picture ) does behave like he has an alien symbiote in his brain, so perhaps it would suit him Thanks for you advice. Hope you're enjoying your weekend
