Great shot.'There is no point pressing the shutter unless you are making some caustic comment on the incongruities of life. That is what photography is all about. It is the only reason for doing it.'......Philip Jones Griffiths
Hi folks, thanks for the comments. Marcus is a nice chap and a fellow photographer, as well as being the editor of a local magazine. I took the shot in my favourite pub, which is quite dark inside. The only light was coming from the window behind him and the door to the right of the frame (also slightly behind the subject), which lit his face. I used a wide aperture and very shallow DOF. I converted it to tritone in PS, and then back to RGB. I then adjusted the curves on the red channel to bring out some detail on his face. I also used the healing brush on his face and the burn tool to darken bits of reflection. Finally, I cloned out the scratches which seem to feature on all of my x-300 shots.

I don't know stewart, you won't give up your technique secrets, I've been experimenting with all the tools in ps and the results have all been disastrous. Check out my convertable. How about a hint as to which tool to bloody well start with? LOL. Thanks. AmandaMy Gallery
