The sand around the shell seems incidental. So, dare I say, black & white, with the shell selectively colored?--Chris

I agree with them b&w and maybe more contrast to this nice and simple composition. like it.

I,m dying to know if there is something in there!! Must say, I am not sure about the B&W idea....I rather like the subtle links that having colour in the sand has with the shell...after all, one day the shell will end up as sand won't it?!

This one *does* look like a B&W is struggling to get out of it. If not selectively colored, then toned a bit (perhaps by using the original color image as a "wash"). Nice job. --Brian
