This one's an exercise in painting with light using nothing more than a bycycle lamp. I'd filled an old paint tray with water, pebbles and other bits of Autumn ware and froze it overnight in our rather small freezer under the disapproving eye of my wife ;-) To take the shot I tripod mounted my Nikon directly above the set up in a completly darkened room and used an exposure of 15 seconds at f16, varying how I lit it with the cycle lamp with each exposure. The ice was given the blue treament in ps along with a boost to saturation. Out of maybe 20 frames I'd say 5 made the mark and a great deal of fun was had by all, except maybe the wife.
Wow, impressive work! I love the idea and the result. Sorry about your wife but some times our couples don't understand our "artistic side", don't worry when we are rich and famous (..... dreaming .....) they will be very happy with our "artistic side". AnaAna
Very impressive Mark, you went to a lot of trouble setting this up, but well worth it ....JulieTwelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop.
Thanks all! The wife's been informed that she may well be the next thing inserted into our freezer if she's not more obliging to my artistic side in future.
congratulations on your well deserved win!!!!! kind regards from Jenny!!! I won't bother to rate it now, as it quite clearly has been rated already!!! Well done to you!!Visit My Art Prints Website
