Beautiful shot, composition, light all perfect.What are they dying of?I recently had an article sent to me by a friend from this area, regarding all the bad fuel being dumped across the southern states,wondering if that could be the cause.

While that's certainly an issue, along with pollution which is becoming a big problem - these particular trees are infested with bugs, specifically the wooly adelgid.
