I say, dashing chap, ey what? A very nice formal portrait, Bridget. Next time you do one like this, try some kind of modeling light. That is, a dimmer light that rakes in at an angle to catch the edges. On my monitor, the shoulders are lost in the background. --Chris

Thankyou john,i used a flash with a white umbrella from the left as you look at the photo and a modeling light from the right and toned down the background in levels using layers
I think this is one of your best yet as well Bridget, but then again you have the perfect poser!!Twelve significant photographs in any one year is a good crop.
