In poker, the dead man's hand is a two-pair hand, namely "aces and eights." The origin of the name, legend has it, is the five-card-draw hand held by Wild Bill Hickok at the time of his murder. He was shot dead (in the back) while playing poker in Deadwood, South Dakota.
Thanks ever so much. The money photographed better than I thought it would. I purposely laid it about without taking care to face it all the same way, or neatly, etc. to keep it from looking 'posed.'
