It's a great shot. Don't feel you need to apologize because he is no osprey. That's silly. You have all the makings of a super photo here, the focus, the exposure, the composition are all very good. You even have that all important catch light in the eye. The only distraction are the branches but that couldn't be helped. It's still a great shot. Smile

Black is even harder than white to get any degree of definition and you have done well.
Welcome to the blog and do not despair if you do not get many comments on some photos. There are newcomers posting lots of images at once at the moment and some shots get buried on back pages very quickly. john
