The main feature of the Pyrenee's Houses may be their strength, they have to support a very difficult weather, at least in the past. The building materials are usually from the surrounding area and each valley had theirs.
In this case the roof is made of stones, very abundant in the area, in other valleys the slate for the roofs is more common.
