I agree with Paul- I know how hard it is- to get a decent shot of raptorial birds, they have better eyesight than us and usually do not get too close. john

Thank you all so much! I appreciate all of your comments. Yes, I've tried for a long time to get one of these hawks in flight, and to be lucky enough to have it come so close was a one in a million chance.

Well done, the redtrailed kite has jsut been introduced again near Corby, and I haven't managed to capture one on film yet
