In my opinion this would have been so much more powerful without the effects. The background at the top doesn't match the rest of the background ( especially through the eyehole front) and is muddy and unconvincing. The blurry hand has become the focal point which detracts from the power of the image as a whole. The thumbnail looks great!malsmith.com
I see things another way. The blurring hand lends energy and a vibrant street feel to this. The only effect I see is a slow shutter speed, which the exif data says is 1/15 of a second. A flash helped give definition from the background. I view the background at top as just exactly what it looks like, some kind of wall or sign or something. On the other hand, I couldn't tell a thing from the thumbnail.

I love the colors you have captured here. I bet the sound from the carracas give you goose bumps when they are all playing together.

Wow! Thanks for your comments and generous ratings. Mald it's partly right. I had to be more careful, but I hadn't enough time I like this shot for the action in the hands. The background is a nice wall, but the people was sitting there, so you can only see their legs, then I decided to blur it, may be too much. If I can I will try to do something with it. Ana
