This is a great shot. John has a point about dof, f8 at iso 200 may have acheived this, but this is just individual preferences. Well done. Rob

Thanks for all the comments. I agree, a smaller aperture would have given me a better depth of field. When I got to this Buzzard he was not happy and seemed a little stressed, so I quickly ran off a few shots with out thinking too much. They actually turned out to be some of my best shots of the day too. The sad thing is that the general public is now banned from visiting their birds of prey after some stupid people threw stones at the birds and I am told that the birds are very traumatised and scared of any people other than the handlers.

There are always idiots around who spoil things.
After around 6 months of experimentation, I have my camera semi permanently set at ISO 800. I may change it for some tripod and remote cable scenery but otherwise it seems to cope quite well. This would have given you F8 plus a faster shutter .
Still it is a terrific shot. john We're off to see the Lizard~~the wonderful (sic) Lizard of Oz~~
