Red Squirrel

I had my camera all set up with my mono pod and big lens only to come across this Red Squirrel outside our chalet on the nearest tree. He shouted at me alot. I don't think he was very impressed with us moving into his territory. He soon cheered up as I put a few nuts out for him.

Great capture...where were you?

Thanks for the comments. I live on the Isle of Wight where we have Red Squirrels but I have never managed to get this close before. This was in the Pine Forests of the South West of France. He was on a Pine Tree a few feet from our chalet.

Great shot Paul. One thing that amazes me in Europe is that you can travel for an hour and be in another country. We can fly for three hours and still be in Australia. john
We're off to see the Lizard~~the wonderful (sic) Lizard of Oz~~

Nice shot. He was probably shouting at you so you would give him the nuts.
