Took this last night in the murk on Belfast Lough. As it was so murky and the boats are old I gave it some age. These boats are called Waverleys and are about 60 to 70 years old. There are several fleets of wooden boats of the same age sailing around N. Ireland, Rivers, Glens and Fairies. It is lovely to see these boats maintained and used.
Lovely composition, good contrast and tones, the grain really suits the image and it has that "timeless" quality. I like the sharpness of the boats and the blurred background. I'd say it was taken in 1942 ... brillantly taken in such bad conditions!
