this has got to be one of my absolute favourites from your works... wow.. it`s truly exceptional... outsanding work my friend..."The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
These types of shots are so difficult to comment on because we're entering a different world - good detail in the eye and thorax, but there's a lot of white edging (looks like bits have been over-sharpened), and the dof is strange. Cropping top and bottom will make it better.http://janpudney.net/ http://jaypea.redbubble.com/
Thanks for the comment my friend, it is a whole new world, when you think the depth of field at F 16 is less than a centimetre, balancing that with a reasonably high shutter speed is a nightmare. Unless you can get a shot completely side on which is for the most is very difficult with the subjects involved, you cannot get everything in focus. The image hasn't been sharpened in any way,I can only put the white edging down too refraction of light occuring at extreme close up, you should have a go at it my friend I'm sure you would enjoy it!.....apart from jumping up and down in frustration when you get it wrong, it is a very interesting form of photography.....as you say it is a different world!..lol.........thanks again...........Ken

In spite of all the great shots, this has to be you best macro so far Ken.. Superb image sharpness and colour.
I am in agreement with my fellow Aussie on a wee crop of the top though. john We're off to see the Lizard~~the wonderful (sic) Lizard of Oz~~
