Those of a squeamish or nervous disposition look away. There were lots of swallows on our deck and these egrets saw them as easy pickings. The ultimate irony is, try as they might, they simply could not swallow them. There is good news and bad news as far as this little swallow is concerned. I ran at the egret and it dropped the swallow. Unfortunately it landed in the sea. Well... eaten alive or drowned, which would you prefer?
Nicely detailed shots and well captured. Have to feel sorry for the poor little swallow though.
