This is a chick/juvenile. You can tell by the white spots on the feathers. She is strengthing her wings and therefore not flying too high off the ground which is why I was able to shoot her this close.
This shot is fabulous!!! Sharp, clear - Nice action position, with a sense of motion conveyed on the wing tips - nice balance with the boats..

Wow - superb shot!!!!! I agree about the background. I love the detail everywhere but I love seeing the feet (my wee fetish!!) - it is there the action occurs and I would not want to be the fish on the receiving end of those - you can see the power in them! Viv
The score buttons only go up to ten, you deserve more for this lovely picture. Sharp with lots of detail, and the boats in the background almost make the bird look to be in 3D........really nice Amanda.....Alan
