That tail reminds me of your avatar, owl eyes. We used that saying when something was done well. " Now your cooking with gas". It does relay the heat factor well/ Love what it does to the houses earth-bound. Cool shot! Maggi

Thanks Viv and Maggi. Does anyone have the answer to this techie question.. the heat haze i can understand. but look at the bottom side of the aircraft and what is happening to the houses.. ive not applied any filter and its not a zoom photo.. why around that area do the houses appear to be zooming?
I assume the aircraft is turning quite sharply and therefore the air underneath it will be compressed or rarefied ( not sure which) and this alters its refractive index giving rise to the effect.
