Thanks. I was on vacation -- no tripod. I shot 6 images with exposure locked to the first image and a lot of overlap. Not only was the ferry moving left to right, it was getting closer to the city with each shot. As a result, I had to crop it a little more than I would have liked. Overall it turned out better than I had hoped.
With Adobe Photoshop CS, there's this new feature that allows you to create a smart panoramic picture using fragmented images. Something to give a try if you plan on capturing all of the skyline like you afore menioned. I have yet to "buy" it *wink* *wink* but I'll let you know if it actually works! The feature is supposed to steamline it, and take out the tedious nature of stitching. Plus, if your exposure won't lock, then you can bring out the shadow detail, to match the other exposures.
