Very nice shot, but see you also get a bit of blur on the rock, which seems out of focus compared to the rest. Its not as easy as some would think. But I love the overall comp and they are some great turtles you have there.
Thanks. Can't identify it yet. Not Blandings, not Snapping, not Painted, not Wood. Could be Eastern Box. Anyone know? This one was in a river in Michigan. I'm almost looking forward to colder weather here; to photograph while I'm moving (in a kayak)creates some exceedingly annoying challenges (like finding a suitable shutter speed and making certain I don't fall in the water). As a trade-off (comparing to hiking through the woods), the "stealth mode" in a kayak on a slow-moving river is absolutely sublime.
I envy you, wish I were young and fit again.I can imagine the kayak on a slow moving river would be a fatastic experience.I will say it again its really nice to be seeing your photos once more.Just wish you would put some more on.
That's a map turtle, not sure what kind. Definantely NOT a boxie! Boxies aren't the best of swimmers as these maps are. Great head shot of him too..err Her actually!
