The South Rock. This rock sits some distance off the Ards peninsula and has always been a shipping hazard as it is so low lying. When the lighthouse was being built the workmen lived in a ship at anchor which was driven ashore in a gale - the men are buried in a little graveyard nearby ashore. The Light vessel superseded the lighthouse a long time ago. (This is not the most inspiring photo but it was taken from our boat!)
