I had to up this to a ten, against my usual rules, to combat the odd scoring in POTW.

If this doesn't win . . . well I wouldn't be surprised.

But in my view its the winner up to Friday and now I'm away for the weekend.

Have to agree, great shot - perfect composition, very sharp, and uncluttered background. Have you manipulated the branch at the bottom right at all? It seems to be glowing :0)

Hi Gav, I was a bit worried about that too, but didn't have time to correct it. It's an out-of-focus beam of light, which shines though a row of trees, which I use as my back drop. I have a pond beneath where the bird is perched and at certain times of the day it produces the perfect fill in, better than any flash gun. lol. lol.

Fabolous expression/poise from the bird. The glowing outlines - birds head and bottom right I would clone - takes the focus away from the bird IMO. I would be very proud to take something half as good as this. Bravo
