killing the insects

This was taken while a truck was spraying some insect killer around the ministry of defense, in Istanbul. This explains the clouds at street level.

A stunning shot even with out the spray. The sky and lighting is magnificent. Hope you did not breathe for the 10 seconds this exposure took. Viv

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. It is true that night scenes are the one that inspire me the most. Which is fortunate as I usualy have no time availale during the day to take picture.

As for the spray, I believe that it add to the picture. This is the view from the Hilton in Istanbul, I have stayed there about 10 time this year so took quite a few picture of that view, with all kind of different lights. This is my favorite as the spray gives it a special feel. I came back on that evening just to get changed as I was going for a meal with a colleague, when I saw the spray, I grabed the camera and hold it on the balcony edge and took the picture. Unfortunately, the camera was set for night picture, idealy I would have prefered an apperture of about f8 instead of 3.5 . By the time I realised this, the spray had gone. :-(
