Stunning! Hope your camera had a helmet on! I love the little bit of grass just framing the bottom of the image and the wee bits of hedge flying through the air. Viv
I like photographs with "strange" points of view. They show the world in another way. Congratulations, it´s one of the best images I´ve seen this year.
Thanks for the comment's chaps, glad you like it, as you may know point to point racing is amautre jockeys and novice or other horses that IMHO should not be racing, so with this in mind it can be quite dangerous, first I was getting quite close to the wings of the jumps but this soon ended as you never knew which way a horse would run out from the jump and I also saw a horse plough through the wing of one jump, so I could have easily been in harms way, so I invested in a remote trigger and extention cord, the camera was set up on the ground infront of the jump, raising the front end slightly, the trigger cable was run to one side with me attached to it, when the horses came along I rattled off a series of shots, after each pass over the jump I had to run to the camera and clean the debris off etc and reset it in position varying the angle slightly for different shots, It was a case of timing and knowing horses with luck chucked in, Here are the camera settings, 12-24mm @ 12mm, 1/5000 sec, f/5.6, Mode: Av, Metering: Evaluative, Exp comp: -1/3, ISO: 400, AF mode: Manual focus, Drive: Continuous: frame 1, White balance: Auto, Flash: Off, Saturation: High, Sharpness: High, Contrast: High, Picture Effect: Normal, Tone: Normal, Custom Functions:Default settings
