I think this picture shows an innate potential to be very dramatic, a great thing in black & white photography. While you have many winning elements here, the full potential I believe would come out in a cropped version. Mind, I'm not stating this is a worse version, just that a crop would deliver a different emotional package.
The crop I have in mind is just a couple millimeters above the people. This takes them out of the center of the picture. While there are several schools of thought that say you should never put objects in a photo that are headed out of the picture, you also need to know when to purposely break the rules; I think this is one of those times. You can try the effect without actually doing the crop by scrolling the image on your computer screen to where it's cut off at that first horizontal line in the middle of the block section of the building at upper right.
