Rambiz carrying a marine current turbine

This is the barge Rambiz carrying the first ever marine current turbine out of Belfast tonight for installation in the narrows of Strangford Lough. This will be the first ever underwater tidal electricity generating turbine in the world. The cranes on the Rambiz are 300 foot high and the pillar of the generator can just be seen below. Not the best shot even with a tripod but she was galloping along at 6 knots!

Hi viv. Thanks for the info. I was looking at this from my window in work on friday and wondered what it was. It has been sitting between Samson and Goliath for a few days now.
