This is a photo of my 8 yr old Saddlebred gelding's eye. He has a long story to tell of a hard life and unfortunate events, and I believe you can see the effect of these in his eye - I feel the brightness/life to his eye has faded and instead sorrow has taken its place.
He was abused and hasn't been able to come out of the trauma he has suffered. He thinks everything is out to get him and trusts very few people. He was sent from auction block to auction block, ended up on death row and was rescued by a rescue group. Horses don't forget and he sure hasn't forgotten what has happened to him that was bad. Such a sad thing too, that people can be so cruel to animals who just want to give their all. Thanks for the comment!
