Trying out my new lens. It was very hazy yesterday evening. These guys all had to pass the mark on their right side. It is a mark that requires gybing, a tricky manuoevre with a spinnaker up in fresh winds. Add to which they are all jostling to get the inside position at the mark which if they can get inside the other boats at a certain distance from the mark gives them right of way around it. All great fun when hurtling around in 4 ton boats!
Great shot Viv...does look chaotic, and it's not like you can put the breaks on if in the wrong spot.......400mm and you had to pull back to 300mm to get it all in...lol...there are 2 more boats in that melee, that we can't see too....Alan
What a cool shot, this is what your in the midst of when you race Viv? loks like an adrenalin rush. Lots of action. Maggi
~In His Love~ Maggi D For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
Thanks Maggi - yes we get in the middle of this sort of thing. Every year I think I dont want to race and as soon as we get the first close quarters action I get hooked again. Viv
Looks like they're all ganging up on the one in the middle! Is this revenge for him (wonder if his name is Brian - I have a thing about Brian's) trying to steal the wind in the previous photo. 'Steal the wind' ... It is hazy, but nature doesn't care about photography. You've captured a moment. Janhttp://janpudney.net/ http://jaypea.redbubble.com/
