Wow with a title like that you gotta look.
This is a pair of resedent nesting Peregrine Falcons, which have one chick at present, which you can just see under her breast. She still has 3 eggs unhatched.
The male has a big rat in his talon, I will post a close up.
Rob, while this is a sure focus challenge, no doubt to how far you had to shoot from, it does have some interest in the back story. I'm glad you supplied more information about the social dynamic of the family, because it adds much more to what I can see.
The birds are well positioned in the frame, and balanced, I feel, by the splash of green at bottom.
Thanks Chris, yes it was 3 miles away, or thats what it looked like when I looked through the viewfinder.
Can not see them through the naked eye. There is another spot where I would be able to get some fantastic close up's, but it would disturb the birds and they have been nesting in this spot for at least four years. Don't want them abandoning the nest.
