Goings on.

Goings on.

Sitting on the shore front at Portaferry on a hazy day watching all the activity. This was so hazy I used HDR to try and rescue something. There are divers loading up with the ferry in the background and the new tidal generator (which we sail past next week). But I am a failure as a photographer - we had lunch at the next table to Archbishop Desmond Tutu in the Portaferry hotel, I could not ask for his photo - I will never be able to be intrusive! I think he is quite a character.

Lots of interesting detail in this..... A good camera phone would have been handy for a sneaky shot of Desmond Tutu. Although I don't know if I'd have had the cheek to do it without asking....

An interesting shot Viv....plenty happening in this and lots of great colours...what's that red and black golf tee looking thing Viv? can't resist going down to the must be a pisces......It would have been a temptation to ask for his photo, especially since he is so likeable, but you did the right is good to hear that you are sailing next week...SmileAlan

Lol Paul and Alan. I hope to sail next week - we need to get the boat around to Strangford Lough - so cross your fingers. The golf tee is the tidal generator - the blades and cross arm are under water and only raised for maintenance. Sod's law it will be up next week which wil not leave a lot of room to manouevre around it in 8 knots of tide. Viv

I like it. There's so much to look at and it's all quite pleasing to the eye. You ARE a photographer. Next time ask. I am sure he's very much used to it. All he can say is "no."

Oranges and blues really pop here - those boys must plan their wardrobe before leaving home. Lots to look at and lucky you being next to Tutu - a real hero. Jan

Cool shot, Viv! I called Dad in to see this one because I knew he'd want to see the tidal generator, and he could tell me how it works, and the points of intrest on the ferry, that it's run by deasel...(He thinks it's great!!!)(sorry I don't know how to spell deasel???) The orange diving boat is really spiffy! Smile
You haven't fail as a photographer at all,...Just think...the Archbishop was probably relieved that you didn't pop-a-razzel him when he was just trying to relax like regular folk. I wouldn't have the courage to walk up and disturb someone famous for a snap shot either.
I love visiting the Big Water, Viv! Smile Daenna

Thanks everyone. Daenna it is not my style to hassle people when they are relaxing. But that is probably a once only occasion - I was just pleased to see him - he makes you smile just looking at him. Viv
