June morning, 2005, and the three horses (and two foals) are interested in me as I climb the roadside observation point, which gives promise of these equine locals, black bulls, egrets and pink flamingoes. A famous French novel about a boy and the Camargue White Horses is called 'Les Crins Blancs'. I cannot believe the definition achieved in this photo, as the camera used was far from sophisticated. The quality of the light - near Arles, France - was unbelievable.
