The Osprey chicks have hatched. Don't they look prehistoric? I believe there are 3 of them in the nest. This was my very first look at them. The parents were doing a good job of keeping them out of sight. Plus, in spite of my precautions I managed to pick up a tick. Luckily I felt it walking on my arm, but that finished the shoot for me. I ran screaming home. I am not anxious to go back too soon. It's a jungle out there!
They look like ancient condors or something. I noticed your work a couple years ago with an osprey family, and followed your nature photography every since. I think you must have upgraded your lenses or your creeping-up techniques since then, since this seems a lot closer, and very clear.
This is excellent. Yes they look more like pteradactyl chicks - wierd looking! Lol John's comment - but I am not surprised that tic ticked you off - not the best creature to get bitten by! Glad you caught it first. Viv

Pteradactyl, that's it! I was trying to remember that when I said condors.
Lol @ your own admission Amanda
They also look rather hungry too... Must have been rather hot there are I see they are panting...
Good capture & don't let a little bug scare you away from these fellows because not all of us can even manage to get as close as so far you have been doing!
