Evening racing on Strangford Lough....seconds post the start and after the jostling for position on the line the crews settle down to trim their boats. And the reason this was looking at their transoms? We were Race Officers last night and between juggling stopwatches, hooters, flags and sighting down the line it is impossible to take a shot in the seconds before the start..more is the pity! Some day I must just go and sit on the Committee Boat with no job to do.

Thanks Amanda - no - I just damped down the highlights with the slider in PS - I know from experience that the evening sun on the hulls and sails produces such a glare.

Very colorful shot here. Is it still cold for you? Maybe I am confused about the months there in Ireland. I am currently suffering from a very bad sunburn I got while foolishly paddling out in the Fourchon bay in a 16 ft aluminum bateau without any suntan lotion. Fried to a crisp. And yet I see these folks with jackets. Wait, I just Googled it and saw that your highest temp is in july at around 20 degrees celsius. That is amazing. Do they even sell sunscreen there?

Lol Rob!!! Yes they still sell sunscreen here - you can get fried to a crisp here as the sun is just as strong! You get burnt more on the water as it reflects off it. However this image was about 7.30 pm, during one of our cooler snaps. We do get temps up to 25 degrees - May was superb but we are now under the jet stream and getting every depression that crosses the Atlantic - all your fault really Viv
Not mine! It's my wifes fault. She won't let me get a motorcycle which would be much friendlier to the environment. I will start working on my "I have to get a motorcycle to save Ireland" pitch for when she gets home tonight.
