This doesn't look like a very happy young man, and perhaps that's the message in the portrait. The design on the shirt interests me; I am drawn to know what it is, and how it might impact the overall message.
Thanks all, He was bored to tears is the reason for the expression. Viv and Bridget, I am surprised you didnt recognize Isaac, my grandson! This was taken at the bridal shop and he was tired of watching women trying on dresses. Its amazing what tones, colors, and framing can do to change the feel and attitude of a shot. Its actually a very colorful shot and I blurred the noisy BG then converted to gray tones...

I agree Maggi - yes, he does look bored but it all works very well together and creates a memory for you and of course something to tease him with when he is older. The hidden harmony is better than the obvious. Alexander Pope (1688-1744)
Maggi I did recognise Isaac. I love the story! I don't blame him that expression if he was in a bridal shop - I would agree with him I am suprised you got him in the door! Now if it had been a chandlers for me or a toy shop for him..... How did you blur the background as there is no demarcation edge around his head? I can never do that without leaving the feel it has been done in PS. Viv
Works better if I leave the brush soft and its done in colora nad then converted to B&W or gray tones. Then you can soften the lines and shadows.....
