Keeping an eye on things

About the only image I got from this new lens before the weather closed in. A not very exciting image - more a case of trying it out. Very poor light so this was very limited with dof.

That is a serious lens you got there. I'm glad these things are not really that big. They would be kind of scary!

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Oh my look at the resolution in those peepers! I like your DOF on this one it makes the focus more selective on all those eyes and sharp pointy hairs. Very Science Fiction, Yup the eyes have it! Smile Daenna

Nice one Viv, this is more of a test of the new optic, you have very nice definition in the eyes. The 35mm equivalent in the exif of Canon cameras always tickles me.

Great pic!

My only (minor) criticism would be the hexagon shaped reflections in the eyes are a bit distracting to me. I'm not sure what they're caused by though - probably the position of the flash or how the flash is being diffused.

Thanks for that Djeyewater (give us a name - that is too much of an mouthful!) there was no flash used - look at the exif data - I do not use flash for shots like this. Viv

Ah yes, I see now. Possibly could try diffusing the sunlight to remove the reflections, but I think this would be more trouble than its worth. As I said, its only a minor detraction for me and so long as you're happy with the photo, that's the main thing.

Also I don't know what PP you did, but its nice and clean for an ISO1600 image.
