Thanks Bridget..we went to the park (Braeside) yesterday but no decent bird shots. It is cold and windy today so hence the light tent....john

Oh I love this - as Bridget said, something different from you. It would be good with only the watch, too. Jan
(PS Our club is having a competition for 'Jewellery' in a couple of months. Maybe we could do a deal ...)

Super still life John and a very well executed image, the fact you used a light tent really shows as you have controlled reflections very well.

An incredible collection of nice shiney bling. Smile

A light tent! I must get busy making or buying one of those. Anybody know a great online source at reasonable prices?

Thanks folks. Chris I sent you a pm in case you do not read back over but for the benefit of others who think they may need expensive equipment

My light tent cost me about $A30 and the total set-up less than $150.
It is made of round dowell. The connectors are black polypropylene garden joiners. The sort you use to connect pop up sprinklers in a garden irrigation system.~$2.50 each and of course you need 8 for the cube. I forget hopw much the dowell was.
The dowell fits inside the connectors and the whole cube can be assembled and disassembled in 5 minutes.
I bought a piece of shelf glass 900mm by 600mm for $30 at a local glass place.
We bought some black velvet from a material store for under $20 and the light diffuser is an old bedsheet.
The light source is a twin handyman 500 watt builders lights on a stand for $30.
Inexpensive and works fine...john

I agree completely with Bridget. More please! This is really good though I expected the PJs as well..Lol!! I had been looking for a sheet of black perspex but the velvet and glass sounds ideal. Viv

not only is this assuredly a perfectly executed photograph but your setup and light system are smart and efficient. Last winter I had made an attempt at this with a big cardboard box... not easy to work with and an eye sore no matter where you tried to store it... Great stuff here John....

Thank you all... it is the thinking up of the ideas that is painful...took me weeks to plan this out in my head and then, about half an hour to execute....the thinking now has to be re-started for the next one....Birds are much easier, you see them and shoot!!...john
