Eyes among the grass

My young fox from yesterday. I could have cropped this but I like the way the grass has framed her so I thought I would just keep this atmosphere. This was as she was working her way around me. I could be wrong about not cropping. Recropped and the grass stalk removed.

Lovely image Viv, i would have cropped it to to 571 x 531 from the left, this takes the cub from the middle and you would still have a kind of framing. It's a super shot though.

I Like this one best Viv, Lovely shot, nice light, I think Johns got a point about moving the cub from the middle.........Jimmy.

Thanks John and Jimmy. Part of my problem was I could not decide which side to crop. Guess I will try it both ways but I think you are right John. Viv

Lovely Viv.....so trusting (for a fox).....sometimes I think the feeling generated in the picture comes from the surrounds, not the subject.....the out of focus foreground grass is a natural frame and gives the feeling of a secret look into her world......I like it just like this.......SmileAlan

This is even better than the previous one - what a sweet face. I think John's suggestion about the crop is a good one - and I'd also get rid of the (?)grass growing out of the top of his head. Wonderful lighting and colours and feeling. Lucky you having a subject who seems to like you! Jan

Thank you very much Alan, Jan and Rob. I have recropped and removed the errant grass stalk...Lol. I have not cropped very much as for me this shot was about the ambience of the scene as much as the fox - exactly as you said Alan. Viv

Lovely ambience and lighting, Viv! I agree with you and Alan, I like it the way it is! So lucky to be able to capture this clever little fox, and with the beautiful sparkling grass land habitat. Smile! Daenna

I dont know what you did or what the original looked like but this is great as is Viv. The lighting is wonderful and the colors are great.

Ah! What a difference - this could be a contender for the POTM as well with all that beautiful lighting. In my favourites. Jan
