"Vigil" - Dawn to Dusk

Scots Grey Guards horseman soldier monument on Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh (UK).This statue commemorates the soilders who left Edinburgh in 1899 to fight in the South African War. It was unveiled by Lord Rosebery on 16 November 1906.Above it stands the Edinburgh castle. In the picture it looks as if the castle and the horseman are in close proximity but in actuallty the statue is on the road and the castle is on a mountain top. It gives a feeling as if the solider is keeping a vigil in case of attack on the castle. The time could be interpreted as dawn or dusk....it does not matter as many a times one must have witnessed the sun and the moon together!
