Beautiful colours and a nice crop with that other thistle head. She looks a "Ruby" - even down to her wings. (I still have not seen a dragon fly yet. I don't blame them for hiding - it was 13 degrees and a cold north wind today - Cooooollllddd!) Viv
God knows they're not easy to take a photograph of even if they are sort of friendly... This is a super catch............one landed on my chest last weekend... they are just the most adorable insect I know... so glad they don't care to bite...."The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
Fantastic image sharpness Maggi....my eye does slide off to the bright mauve flower on the left...might be worth considering a crop and a clone to present Ruby on the three header by herself.....john We're off to see the Lizard~~the wonderful (sic) Lizard of Oz~~
Thanks all. I thought of that John but couldnt come up with a crop I liked..Its an Zuiko MC 1:35 f-50mm made for Olympus OM system

Beautiful capture Maggi, I have not managed to get any dragonflies yet. I agree with John about the crop, but it is beautiful all the same http://www.jenniferscottphotography.co.uk
