A familiar sight on Long Island beaches. It isn't really a crab, it's related to scorpions and spiders and is not dangerous. It has been around for 250 million years. So, Happy Birthday, Crabby!
Lol the birthday greetings! I did not realise you got these on Long Island. I saw my first one back in the 70s in an aquarium in St Malo in Brittany and my first thought was that a trilobite had survived - they are so very like the fossil. They were huge as well - what size is this beastie? Viv
