Love the angle and the lighting. Very different. Love her cuddly toy that she is gripping so tightly. Her windswept hair gives a feeling that a little panic has set in because she can't see Mum. Viv
This takes me back to the mid-sixties. My Grandfather and I were out shopping. I was talking away to him when I looked up and discovered that I was chopsing to a total stranger. Panic! I'll never forget it. The stark shadows accentuate the feeling of menace.Nigel.
this is a photograph with 'feel'. The shadow needs to be in full.. it can be done I'm sure.. you can do anything. Just needs to be extended a whole strip on left. Super work"The poetry of photography will always be more important than the mechanics of the camera..." - J-H. Lartigue
Aye..I go along with Oly...a full shadow from the girl would really give it that extra ooomph! The sense of movent in the head swinging in search of safety is really well caught. I love it!Nigel.
i like the comp. I agree that a complete shadow would add that bit extra. Also, I think I would like to see it in b&w instead of colour.Richard Crowe Visit My Website
Excellent interaction of rectangular patterns on a diagonal - intensifies a sense of fear.
The stuffed animal adds to it. I hope mom was just a few feet away!!
Nice image Maggi...I also like the shadow effects that the others have commented on...john We're off to see the Lizard~~the wonderful (sic) Lizard of Oz~~
Great shot, and i agree with Richard , it would be interesting to see it in b&w.'There is no point pressing the shutter unless you are making some caustic comment on the incongruities of life. That is what photography is all about. It is the only reason for doing it.'......Philip Jones Griffiths
Thanks for looking....I am her Grandma who was right there and as everyone knows, one grandma makes up for ten Mums! LOL I prefer the color myself. The stuffed animal is Wolfers, her constant companion. The was taken in Bright sunlight and darkened for effect.

Have looked at them both Maggi.....I think I prefer this one...both are great.....she does have a strong hold of Wolfers in her time of anxiety!.....glad you were right there!....she is a little sweetheart! ....Alan
