There are lots of great sites around for USN ships.....I did some research for Ros's (my wife) father's ships and discovered a wealth of information "out there" .....about 20 years ago the battleship USS Missouri was in Sydney and we went down to go on board and have a look, but the crowd was so large it was really dangerous and eventually they had to turn us all away.....26 years is good service...well done....Alan
If you want to get info on ships you can try www.navsource.org. I had a chance once to go to Australia when I was in Japan. one of our ships was going to go there. But at the last min my captain pulled my name of the list.
Our Army had 4 of your old WW11 LSM's and I spent 2 years on them. They were re-named for our service, I did find the original USN numbers (they did not have a name in your service), but they are lost somewhere in my backup files..........Alan
