Yellowjacket is the common name in North America for this wasp. I've been stung by yellowjackets many times and it hurts worse than getting bit by Charlie. They get very aggressive in the late summer into fall and they love piña coladas.

Lol - did they keep you away from your pina coladas? Being a bit dumb I have often wondered what a yellow jacket was when it has been mentioned in novels..! They look a little more slender than ours. Hope you did not stung? Viv

LOL!! Nothing stands between me and my pinas!!! No, luckily I did not get stung this time. I'm am stunned though to see you posted the same kind of bug seconds before me. LOL!!!
