Western Grey Plantain-Eaters

Plantain-Eaters are members of the Turaco family.

Like all Turaco's, they have fairly short wings and are not very good flyers. Although they eat bananas in captivity, in the wild they eat neither plantains or bananas. They eat most other fruit and particularly enjoy mango, figs and dates.
