Sorry I have not been around lately. School has kept me pretty much inundated with work. I found time yesterday to do some head shots for my friends wife. This was my first attempt at portraiture but I think we have some keepers. Any suggestions are welcome. Bridget, I know you do portraits. I would love to hear from you on this one. Anyway, I can't wait to get back involved with the forum and I hope everyone is doing great! I miss seeing your work!
Hi Rob,Lovely crop and tilt of the head,maybe just lighten it slightely to get more detail in her hair or turn it B&W.There is a slight shadow above her top but i see from your exif that no flash was used,so i am wondering where the shadow has come from.I am no expert but i reckon you have done a lovely job,i have to say though that portraits are one of the hardest things to get perfect it all comes down to if your client is pleased with the result and that is what matters

Rob i have just tried something,if you go into ps and go to image,adjustments and then match colour and then click neutralise and see what happens i think you will like the result

The light was from some halogen spot lights that I had for lighting (this was a makeshift setup and I did the head shots at no charge.) I see the shadow you are talking about. I am going to have to do some more research on lighting direction and techniques. As for the match color...I don't think my version has that, but you got me playing around and I found the Equalize option. Wow! Made a huge difference. I think it may be the older version of the neutralize feature. That brought out a ton of detail! Thanks for looking!
