Light amongst the dark

Light amongst the dark

I was noseying around a well known graveyard and saw this headstone catching the light. When I got home and read it close up I found that this particular one was historically very interesting. photographicallly I tried all types of crop on this - not sure it is right here.

An interesting shot Viv...a lovely play of light, and good use of for the crop, a portrait format cropping out the near headstone on the left, might look good.......the wording on the headstone seems to indicate it was placed there retrospectively.....nice shot...SmileAlan

Well spotted. It looks very crowded! I can see why you're wondering about the crop and Alan's suggestion is a good one, but I like hat 'peering through' effect, so I'd be inclined to leave it as it is, and it would work well as a b and w. Jan

Well seen and captured Viv. As for the crop I agree with Alan and Jan in a way. The portrait shot works for me but leaving in a little of the headstone on the left, which will centre your subject headstone. Look forward to see your other cropped versions.
