Bridget the last one was on a Freeview channel about 2 days ago but there was one the week before also. They showed where the lines had run in Cornwall and Devon - among the many that were abandoned post Beeching. Quite sad. Viv

Fluffy - its heartening to hear someone warming to our bucolic countryside. We have had the wettest summer almost on record, which is why recent photos of Britain seem so verdant. Not more than 2 years ago, we were heading for empty reservoirs as drought too had caught up with us. The UN even reclassified GB as a "semi-arid region!" Ha Smile The greenest places in Europe remain those in the 'gift' of the Gulfstream - SW Britain, Ireland, and unbelievably, the Spanish Pyrenees near Bilbao and Biarritz. You are most welcome to come visit anytime Smile
